Popiqe started in 2015 when three horticulture graduates from Kew Gardens decided to bring their knowledge to residential and commercial properties across London. What began as a small operation with one van and basic equipment has grown into a company serving over 300 regular clients throughout North London and surrounding areas.
Our founder, James Mitchell, spent eight years maintaining the grounds at Hampton Court Palace before establishing this business. That experience taught us that consistent care produces better results than sporadic attention. We apply this principle to every lawn we maintain.
The team now includes twelve staff members, six of whom hold RHS Level 2 certificates in horticulture. We operate from our base on Liverpool Road, using equipment that meets British Standards for noise and emissions. Our service area covers Islington, Camden, Hackney, and neighbouring boroughs within the M25.
We maintain lawns using methods based on turf management principles taught at agricultural colleges. Each property receives a maintenance schedule adjusted for grass type, soil conditions, and usage patterns. Our teams work Monday through Saturday, scheduling visits during agreed time windows. We track weather conditions and adjust cutting heights accordingly - typically between 25mm and 40mm depending on the season and grass variety.

We expanded into commercial contracts in 2018, now maintaining grounds for office parks in Canary Wharf and residential developments in King's Cross. These larger properties require coordinated teams and precise scheduling to avoid disrupting tenants. The principles remain the same: regular attention produces better outcomes than irregular intervention.
Our business operates on straightforward terms. Contracts specify visit frequency, scope of work, and pricing. We don't lock clients into long commitments - most stay because the service meets their needs. When weather prevents scheduled work, we reschedule within 48 hours or adjust the following visit accordingly.
